A Cavapoo is an awkward size to shop for. Too big for the tiny beds sold for toy breeds, too small for anything built with a Labrador in mind. Most owners end up buying twice.
Here's what actually matters.
Measure your dog, not your guess
Most adult Cavapoos weigh between 5 and 9 kg and measure 30 to 40 cm from nose to base of tail when curled. Measure while she's actually asleep, then add 15–20 cm. That extra space is what lets her stretch out on warm nights instead of hanging off the edge.
If your Cavapoo is still a puppy, buy for the size she'll be at a year old. Beds last years; puppies don't stay small.
Bolster or flat?
This depends entirely on how your dog sleeps.
Curlers and burrowers want a bolster bed — raised sides to press against, something to tuck a nose under. Most Cavapoos fall into this group, particularly in winter.
Sprawlers want a flat cushion. If your dog regularly sleeps on her back with her legs in the air, sides just get in the way.
Watch her on the sofa for a few evenings. She'll tell you which she is.
The cover is the whole decision
This is where most beds fail, and it's specific to curly coats.
Cavapoo fur holds sand, salt and rain far longer than a short-haired coat. After a beach walk, whatever is in that coat ends up in the bed. A bed with a removable, machine-washable cover will still look good in three years. One without will be replaced within twelve months.
Before you buy, check three things: does the cover come off completely, can it go in a domestic machine, and can you buy a replacement cover separately.
Where you put it matters more than what you spend
Cavapoos are companion dogs. A bed in an empty back room stays empty. Put it where the family actually sits — the corner of the living room, near but not in the walkway. She wants to be near you, just not underfoot.
If she already sleeps in one particular spot, put the bed there. Don't try to move her.
What we'd suggest
For a Cavapoo who curls, a bolster bed in size S or M. For a sprawler, a flat cushion in M. In both cases, a removable cover isn't a nice extra — it's the thing that decides whether the bed lasts.
